MY STORY

Jonathan Richardson

Domestic violence, homelessness, addiction, and survival were my childhood. I never graduated high school and I still struggle to answer the basic question, "Where are you from?". I am the lucky one, I was able to get my Bachelor and Master in Criminal Justice and pull myself out of the cycle of trauma.

It is from my experiences and education that I provide mental health and behaviour crisis support and ABA services from a unique lens. One who has survived and grown to support others with problem behaviours whether it be families no longer able to feel safe in their homes, placements where staff are overwhelmed by the behaviours of their clients, and communities running out of options. Let me bring my experiences and perspectives to help you.

MY CREDENTIALS

Experience You Can Count On

Board Certified Behaviour Analyst

As a BCBA, I've worked in groups homes, specialized placements, schools, clinics, family homes, and out in the community as a Technician, Clinician, and Clinical Supervisor. For more information the BCBA credential, please visit www.bacb.com.

PFA/SBT Level 4

The PFA/SBT Level 4 credential is provided by FTF Behavior Consulting to show that a practitioner has been verified to lead the PFA/SBT process with a client. PFA and SBT are an approach to treating severe problem behaviours in a compassionate and trauma-assumed manner based on the values of safety, dignity, and rapport.

Certified Crisis Intervention Specialist - II

During a crisis incident, it is not appropriate to continue using ABA. We all must prioritize safety first. Crisis intervention specialists understand the physiological responses occurring in the brain and body during states of dyregulation and are trained to provide evidence-based de-escalation strategies while maintaining safety and the therapeutic relationship.
